Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team at Vertiv. This role involves assembling and welding parts and frames to print specifications while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and weld parts and/or frames according to engineering drawings and print specifications.
  • Align, fit, and clamp workpieces using measuring tools, hand tools, fixtures, jigs, or vises to ensure proper positioning prior to welding.
  • Clean workpieces to remove dirt, oil, rust, or excess material using chemical solutions, files, wire brushes, grinders, or other appropriate tools.
  • Perform MIG and/or TIG welding along adjoining edges of workpieces using appropriate welding equipment and techniques.
  • Grind, cut, buff, bend, or otherwise prepare edges of workpieces to ensure proper fit and weld integrity using power and hand tools.
  • Inspect completed welds and assemblies for defects, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
  • Rework defective welds, seams, or broken parts as required to meet quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant goals related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous welding or fabrication experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with MIG and/or TIG welding processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Experience using measuring devices such as tape measures, squares, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and continuously improve skills.

Additional Information

  • Team Members may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Work may involve exposure to noise, sparks, heat, and industrial equipment typical of a manufacturing environment.
