Job Description

Overview

At Wabash, Welders play a crucial role in manufacturing carbon/stainless steel and aluminum products and subassemblies, producing high-quality work while adhering to production standards. Welders must pass qualification tests and may attend in-house training if they do not initially qualify.

Responsibilities

  • Own and help improve performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery.
  • MIG and/or TIG weld carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to meet quality standards.
  • Read engineering prints and weld symbols, following specifications.
  • Perform basic operator preventative maintenance for welding equipment.
  • Maneuver in tight and small spaces.
  • Work at heights of 15-20 ft.
  • Assist in different departments as assigned by the supervisor or team leader.
  • Wear approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, and respirators.
  • Complete assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must pass Weld Tests associated with product line prior to welding in production.
  • Must pass respirator fit test.
  • Basic reading, writing, math, and verbal skills are required.
  • Capable of following and understanding engineering prints, specifications, and instructions.
