Overview
At Wabash, Welders play a crucial role in manufacturing carbon/stainless steel and aluminum products and subassemblies, producing high-quality work while adhering to production standards. Welders must pass qualification tests and may attend in-house training if they do not initially qualify.
Responsibilities
- Own and help improve performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery.
- MIG and/or TIG weld carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to meet quality standards.
- Read engineering prints and weld symbols, following specifications.
- Perform basic operator preventative maintenance for welding equipment.
- Maneuver in tight and small spaces.
- Work at heights of 15-20 ft.
- Assist in different departments as assigned by the supervisor or team leader.
- Wear approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, and respirators.
- Complete assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must pass Weld Tests associated with product line prior to welding in production.
- Must pass respirator fit test.
- Basic reading, writing, math, and verbal skills are required.
- Capable of following and understanding engineering prints, specifications, and instructions.
