Overview
The Pipe Welder III position involves performing pipe welding and fitting for modular systems under the supervision of the Pipe Shop Team Leader. This role requires experience in various welding processes and the ability to lead a small team.
Responsibilities
- Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys using multiple processes.
- Operate safety equipment and adhere to safe work habits.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure for conformance with specifications.
- Pass internal destructive and non-destructive examinations of welds.
- Lead a team of 1-3 members on projects.
- Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts.
- Maintain regular attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.
- Conduct activities safely and in accordance with company requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. is strongly preferred.
- Certification or degree in welding from a technical school program is strongly preferred.
- Two to five years of GTAW pipe welding experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to pass Roeslein’s 6G GTAW visual and bend certification is required.
- Must consistently execute high quality RMD, GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW welds.
- Advanced ability to read blue prints, ISO’s, and other technical documents is required.
- Meets all Pipe Welder II requirements on a consistent basis.
- Strong math skills are required.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- High level of energy and motivation.
- Ability to work flexible hours including frequent and mandatory overtime and weekends.
- Must interact effectively with all levels of personnel in a team environment.
