Overview

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is seeking a Welder for the 3rd shift at their Reno, NV facility. The position involves welding for the cable tray department and assisting in assembly tasks.

Responsibilities

• Direct and assist Assembler II’s with assembling ladders.
• Weld cable tray ladders and fittings.
• Handle materials and parts up to 50-pounds frequently.
• Perform simple repetitive tasks using fastening devices.
• Operate welding units for aluminum and steel, making minor adjustments as needed.
• Remove excess weld and imperfections using grinders and other tools.
• Work under close supervision using models or engineering drawings.
• Support Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives.
• Participate in Kaizen events and improvement activities.
• Train on material flow, shop orders, BOM, and inspection sheets.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Operate welding units, machinery, and presses safely.
• Identify raw material types and gauges using measuring tools.
• Understand and apply lean manufacturing concepts.

Requirements

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year welding experience in a manufacturing environment (MIG/TIG).
• Experience adjusting and troubleshooting welding equipment.
• Experience identifying defects and measuring workpieces.

Additional Information

• The hourly rate for this position is $28.07 + $1 shift differential per hour.
• Core hours are 10:00pm to 6:30am.
• No relocation benefit is offered; candidates must be within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV.
