Overview

MAAG Pump Systems and its associated companies are seeking a Welder to fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment for various industries including polymer, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and food. The role involves using welding machines, reading blueprints, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment using welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools.
  • Produce metal products according to customer or employer specifications.
  • Repair and maintain metal equipment and structures of various sizes using multiple welding machines.
  • Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, and blueprints to determine operations, required materials, and timeframes for projects.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
  • Implement personal and company safety measures by wearing specialized safety gear.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
  • Consider quality, accident prevention, and occupational safety in all tasks.
  • Perform tasks requested by management related to the position.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education; additional technical skills are a plus.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in TIG and MIG welding.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience reading blueprints.
  • Willingness to learn and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and efficient in approaching tasks.
  • Independent self-starter with problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team player with a commitment to work ethic and customer focus.
  • Ability to lift heavy items.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
