Overview

Powell is an engineered to order manufacturer of switchgear and electrical equipment for the power generation industry. As a Wireperson, you will perform various wiring tasks within the Electrical Assembly department, ensuring the proper functioning of electrical systems and components.

Responsibilities

  • Use hand tools to perform wiring tasks.
  • Run and bundle wires according to Powell wiring standards.
  • Layout, install, drill and tap devices onto doors and back pans.
  • Install name plates and space heaters.
  • Install and terminate CTs.
  • Operate continuity buzzers.
  • Terminate and run wire for MCC, SWGR, and harnesses according to wire diagram.
  • Promote a safety culture and attend all safety meetings.
  • Ensure work areas remain clean and well organized.
  • Perform in process inspections.

Requirements

  • Minimum education level of a High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent Diploma is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand point-to-point wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure.
  • Basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Safely use a variety of hand/power tools.
  • Lift up to 50lbs using proper lifting techniques.

Additional Information

  • Four 10s Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2:30pm-1:00am.
  • Safety sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment.
