Overview
Austin Industrial is a leader in self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft services for industrial companies across the U.S. The Millwright position involves installing, repairing, and dismantling machinery and heavy equipment in industrial settings.
Responsibilities
- Replace defective parts of machines or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
- Align machines and equipment using various tools.
- Connect power units to machines or steam piping and test for mechanical operation.
- Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
- Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools.
- Position steel beams to support machines using blueprints.
- Signal crane operators for assembly unit alignment.
- Insert shims and adjust tension on nuts and bolts for specified clearances.
- Move machinery and equipment using hoists and dollies.
- Attach moving parts and subassemblies to assembly units.
- Assemble machines and fasten them to foundations using various tools.
- Lay out and drill mounting holes using measuring instruments.
- Bolt parts to assembly units.
- Level bedplates and establish centerline using tools.
- Dismantle machines using hand tools.
- Shrink-fit components using portable gas heating equipment.
- Construct foundations for machines using hand tools and materials.
- Operate engine lathe to grind and turn machine parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirement.
- Minimum 5 years of Journeyman level experience.
- Certifications: NCCER, a Valid TWIC Card, and Driver’s License.
