Overview

Austin Industrial is a leader in self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft services for industrial companies across the U.S. The Millwright position involves installing, repairing, and dismantling machinery and heavy equipment in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

  • Replace defective parts of machines or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
  • Align machines and equipment using various tools.
  • Connect power units to machines or steam piping and test for mechanical operation.
  • Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Position steel beams to support machines using blueprints.
  • Signal crane operators for assembly unit alignment.
  • Insert shims and adjust tension on nuts and bolts for specified clearances.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists and dollies.
  • Attach moving parts and subassemblies to assembly units.
  • Assemble machines and fasten them to foundations using various tools.
  • Lay out and drill mounting holes using measuring instruments.
  • Bolt parts to assembly units.
  • Level bedplates and establish centerline using tools.
  • Dismantle machines using hand tools.
  • Shrink-fit components using portable gas heating equipment.
  • Construct foundations for machines using hand tools and materials.
  • Operate engine lathe to grind and turn machine parts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • No minimum education requirement.
  • Minimum 5 years of Journeyman level experience.
  • Certifications: NCCER, a Valid TWIC Card, and Driver’s License.
