Austin Industrial is a leader in self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft services for industrial companies in the U.S. The Boilermaker role involves constructing, assembling, maintaining, and repairing stationary steam boilers and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Examine boilers and pressure vessels to locate defects for repair.
- Bolt or arc weld pressure vessel structures and parts together.
- Inspect assembled vessels or components for defects.
- Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts using various tools.
- Attach rigging and signal crane operators to lift heavy sections.
- Bell, bead, or weld pressure vessel tube ends for leakproof joints.
- Lay out and mark bending and cutting lines on heavy metal.
- Install various components in drums of water tube boilers.
- Study blueprints to determine dimensions and relationships of parts.
- Straighten or reshape bent pressure vessel plates or parts.
- Shape seams and joints of pressure vessel sections for proper fit.
- Position and secure structural parts to boiler frames or tanks.
- Locate and mark reference points on boiler foundations.
- Shape or fabricate parts to adapt pressure vessels or piping.
- Clean pressure vessel equipment using scrapers and solvents.
- Install refractory bricks in fireboxes of pressure vessels.
- Assemble large vessels in an on-site fabrication shop.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirements.
- 4 years of Journeyman-level experience.
- NCCER certification.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- TWIC Card.
