Overview
Komatsu is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician (FST) to support open-pit mining operations, focusing on electric mining shovels and large gear case components. This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy hands-on work in the field and want to work on some of the largest equipment in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform field service maintenance and repairs on electric mining shovels in open-pit mine environments.
- Change and rebuild major shovel components, including large gear cases.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot complex equipment systems.
- Work closely with mine site teams to ensure equipment uptime and safe operation.
- Travel extensively to mine sites, primarily in Arizona, with some travel to New Mexico and California.
- Work hours are typically 12 hours daily on a 6-day-on schedule in the field.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in the maintenance of mining equipment, preferably shovels, drills, or loaders.
- Able to pass a 3G and 4G 1/16" wire test.
- Willing to travel 100%.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to perform field machining, line boring, and welding.
- Ability to use all varieties of precision measuring instruments.
