Overview
At GTM, we deliver a variety of landscape groundcoverings across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Full-Time Mechanic to join our team, offering excellent pay and benefits for exceptional labor.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Troubleshoot and repair small engines, gas engines, and diesel engines
- Identify problems quickly and provide effective repair solutions
- Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders
- Ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Manage fleet compliance by ensuring all trucks and equipment are properly registered, inspected, and meet all DOT regulations
- Coordinate and track annual inspections, registration renewals, and required compliance documentation
- Assist in maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for company vehicles and equipment
Requirements
- 3–5 years of mechanic experience required
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with small engine repair and diesel engine diagnostics
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and brake systems preferred
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, inspections, and fleet compliance requirements
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Valid driver's license required
- CDL is a plus but not required
