Overview
B&I Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Pipefitter Superintendent to join Florida’s fastest-growing mechanical contracting team, specializing in commercial and industrial projects. The role involves overseeing multiple project sites, ensuring safe and high-quality installation while providing leadership to field teams.
Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of quality, integrity, safety, and teamwork.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of Foremen and field teams across assigned projects.
- Interpret plans, specifications, and submittals; review and approve procurement of materials.
- Plan and allocate manpower and resources to maximize productivity.
- Conduct regular project site visits to assess progress and safety compliance.
- Evaluate and mentor Foremen and field staff through performance appraisals.
- Ensure accurate records are completed by assigned Foremen.
- Coordinate closely with the BIM team to validate shop drawings.
- Work with the PM & Foreman to develop project manpower projections.
- Serve as the primary liaison between project management, foreman, and client representative.
- Oversee the labor tracking process for assigned projects.
- Participate in jobsite meetings with project foreman on a weekly basis.
- Uplift and motivate Foreman and team members.
- Provide accurate cost to complete reports on a monthly basis.
- Monitor and coordinate equipment and material delivery dates.
- Provide timely approval for shop drawings to CAD department and PMs.
- Monitor look ahead schedules and identify risks early.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of field experience, including at least four years in a supervisory or Foreman role.
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, coordination, and manpower planning.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, hydronic systems, and applicable codes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer-based scheduling, reporting, and communication tools.
- Strong understanding of FL Building and AHCA codes.
- Knowledge of DX piping preferred.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
