Overview

Epsilon is a leader in the Off-Site Construction industry, specializing in mechanical and electrical systems delivered in a modular, prefabricated form. The Structural Welder will perform various welding duties and assist in the fabrication of multi-component parts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding duties using a wire welder and stick welder.
  • Weld steel components as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
  • Set up and layout work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products.
  • Assist in the fabrication or welding of multi-component parts.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools.
  • Inspect and correct welds to meet product specifications.
  • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
  • Inspect equipment and notify supervisor/lead or maintenance department if repairs are needed.
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform other job tasks.

Requirements

  • Possess a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Must have AWS D 1.1 certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years welding experience is preferred.
  • Familiar with a variety of welder concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and other instructional material.
  • Must be familiar with welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, filler rods, flux, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders.
  • Must be able to work with various hand tools and operate an industrial powered fork truck.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting work orders and drawings.
  • Able to work independently or as a team player.
  • Excellent time management skills, organized and detail oriented.
  • Employs a friendly, outgoing personality and respects co-workers.

Additional Information

  • Perform work standing up for 8-10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, and lift/move material.
