Overview

HEI is a leading civil construction company with over 50 years of experience, operating in multiple states including Texas. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced pipe installer to join their team in Dallas, focusing on the preparation and installation of underground piping systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install sanitary and storm sewer structures and piping systems.
  • Have experience in installing ductile iron pipe/mechanical joint with a heavy civil contractor for water treatment plants (WTP) or wastewater treatment plants (WWTP).
  • Trace piping routes according to specifications or plans and coordinate with the supervisor.
  • Cut pipes to required lengths.
  • Assemble, install, and repair underground pipe connections and valves of various materials and sizes for storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and potable water lines.
  • Assist in aligning pipes during the construction of the network.
  • Install equipment such as pumps, valves, generators, tanks, motors, shafts, conveyors, and rail systems.
  • Align and position pipes for welding or sealing preparation.
  • Verify slopes to ensure compliance with requirements using levels or lasers.
  • Connect pipe sections and seal joints using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
  • Measure, cut, and perform leak tests on pipes.
  • Drill and bore pipes to install auxiliary lines or devices.
  • Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
  • Level and compact the trench base using compactors and hand tools.
  • Train others in pipe installation techniques.
  • Perform other general labor and construction tasks as required.
  • Ensure a solid understanding and compliance with the company's Employee Manual.

Requirements

  • Preferred OSHA 30; minimum OSHA 10 preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Two years of experience preferred.
