Overview
The Field Tank Welder position at Matrix involves performing welding and grinding functions according to job specifications, while ensuring adherence to safety standards and company values. The role requires close interaction with supervision and a commitment to producing quality welds.
Responsibilities
- Actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its Core Values.
- Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
- Efficiently produce quality welds.
- Perform or assist with fit-up and preparation of welds.
- Perform or assist with post weld cleanup, inspection, and repair.
- Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman regarding job site issues and concerns.
- Comply with all Matrix safety policies and programs.
- Identify safety hazards and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize them.
Requirements
- Ability to pass required weld tests for Tank and Specialty Vessel welding.
- Tank Building experience preferred.
- Must obtain and maintain active status within the drug testing program and pass background screening.
- Must possess or be able to pass the Basic Safety Council Class Courses.
- Must complete Matrix Service Basic Safety training and site-specific training.
- Must possess a valid TWIC card.
- Site may require fire retardant clothing.
- Must maintain clean shaven and/or free of facial hair for proper respirator fit.
- Must be willing to frequently travel/relocate.
- Must be willing to work frequent overtime.

Additional Information
- Work may include pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Must be able to perform tasks at heights and in confined spaces.
- Work involves standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, up to a minimum of 8-10 hours per day.
- Must be able to perform tasks in hot and cold temperatures.
