Overview

GrayWolf is seeking Pipefitters at their Morgan City, LA jobsite. They are a heavy industrial/commercial construction contractor with over 45 years of experience, providing end-to-end solutions and emphasizing a culture of Safety, Quality, and Performance.

Responsibilities

• Work safely around hazards associated with the Pipefitting field.
• Use hand, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools in a safe manner.
• Demonstrate competency in construction math including fractions, decimals, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Identify parts and types of drawings and interpret drawing indexes and line lists.
• Correctly identify piping arrangement drawings and interpret GPS coordinates, control points, elevations, P&ID’s plan views, and section views.
• Identify the purpose of valves and understand how to properly store and handle them.
• Correctly identify types of pipe hangers and supports and determine their placement.
• Identify and explain materials used in threaded piping systems and calculate offsets.
• Identify fittings and read/interpret pipe drawings for socket weld/butt weld pipe fabrication.
• Safely and competently use basic and special rigging procedures and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Requirements

• Four (4) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as a Pipefitter.
• Ability to execute material take offs and figure offsets.
• Must have a locking tool box and tools necessary to perform the job.
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Additional Information

• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required.
