Overview

The Mechanical Fabrication Centers Section provides engineered fabrication services for commercial and government customers, focusing on precision machined components and welded joint assemblies. This role involves applying advanced principles to welding and fabrication, ensuring quality standards for large pressure vessels and structural assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for welding execution.
  • Lead collaboration between design and fabrication teams to ensure manufacturability and quality.
  • Lead weld team quality improvement activities and ensure procedural compliance.
  • Independently assess and communicate technical risk and execution status.
  • Lead fabrication proposal efforts, evaluating cost, schedule, and feasibility.
  • Develop, qualify, revise, and maintain welding procedures and quality evidence.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Welding Technology, Welding Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related Technology degree.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 25+ years of related experience with a high school education or equivalent is required.
  • Must be a Certified Welding Inspector.
  • 15+ years of expertise in development and application of welding procedures according to AWS, ASME, and customer-specific codes.
  • Extensive hands-on experience across multiple welding processes and materials.
  • 10+ years of capability to train, mentor, and evaluate welders.
  • 15+ years of proficiency in inspection planning and quality evidence generation.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
