Magnera aims to improve the world with innovative material solutions, leveraging over 160 years of experience to meet evolving customer needs. The Maintenance Technician role involves troubleshooting machinery and implementing preventive maintenance to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned work orders and checklists for the day, documenting work performed.
  • Rapidly respond to urgent calls to address issues in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using test equipment and repair all equipment.
  • Service electrical equipment including AC and DC drives, PLCs, and control networks.
  • Create and process urgent work orders when assigned.
  • Attend daily meetings to assist in identifying priorities.
  • Assist in Root Cause Analysis for associated failures.
  • Repair and/or replace defective electrical or mechanical equipment.
  • Assist in identifying parts for repairs.
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and modifications.
  • Document all modifications made during repairs.
  • Work overtime as needed for critical jobs or breakdowns.
  • Abide by Glatfelter Mount Holly standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work flexible 12-hour shifts following a 14-day pattern.
  • 2 years Maintenance work experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • 2 year Technical degree in a related area preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical knowledge preferred.
  • Basic electrical/electronic circuit knowledge.
  • Understanding of paper waste recovery, baler, and cyclone system preferred.
  • Working knowledge of motor control systems, PLCs, and communications systems.
  • Working knowledge of relay and ladder logic.
  • Working knowledge of production and support equipment.
  • Ability to read prints, assembly drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Machine roller and component rigging for overhead crane use.
  • Safe working knowledge on use of shop tools including lathe, mill, press, welder, and saws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Computer competency including email and Microsoft Office.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure independently and as part of a team.
