Overview
The Industrial Pipe Welder position involves applying MIG, TIG, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) techniques on pipe systems in a shop environment, ensuring high-quality, code-compliant welds based on blueprints and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Apply MIG, TIG, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) on pipe systems in-shop.
- Complete both rolled (pinwheel) and positional welds on 6" pipe from Sch. 40 through Sch. 160.
- Execute full-penetration TIG welds on 2" pipe with exceptional quality.
- Interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and WPS/specifications.
- Ensure all welds conform to applicable codes and internal quality standards.
- Maintain welding equipment and sustain a safe, orderly work area.
- Follow established safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of shop-based welding experience.
- Proficient across MIG, TIG, and Fluxcore processes.
- Experienced in both pinwheel (rolled) and positional techniques on pipe.
- Capable of welding 6" pipe (Schedule 40–160) and 2" pipe via TIG with full penetration.
- Thorough understanding of welding methods, materials, and safety best practices.
- Able to read drawings and execute per weld procedures.
