Overview

The Turbine Component TIG Welding Specialist role involves restoring power-generation components through precision repairs, primarily focusing on TIG welding and grinding tasks to meet OEM and customer standards.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and manufacture turbine/generator parts with an emphasis on TIG welding.
  • Grind, blend, and finish welds and surfaces to meet OEM/customer satisfaction.
  • Disassemble and reassemble turbine/generator components.
  • Inspect parts and components using precision measurement equipment.
  • Prepare and blend parts, including media blasting.
  • Coordinate daily priorities with job site managers.
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Support other shop areas when needed.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Background in the Power Generation industry preferred.
  • Willingness to work significant mandatory overtime during peak periods.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated skill performing precision welds on thin or delicate parts with minimal distortion.
  • Capability to set up and operate welding equipment independently.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate changes impacting your work area and adapt plans accordingly.
  • Organizational strengths that drive efficient workflows and on-time results.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods and to bend, reach, and lift frequently.
  • Commitment to following customer and ARMS safety guidelines.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass drug test and background check.
