Overview

Chicago Tube and Iron Company is a leader in the metals distribution and fabrication industry, known for its impressive record of profitability and growth. The Welder position involves meeting or exceeding welding production standards in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

  • Read and work from blueprints.
  • Setup for various welding functions.
  • Move equipment and materials to and from workstations.
  • Perform quality fit up for welding.
  • Weld like metals and dissimilar metals.

Requirements

  • Good mechanical aptitude; manufacturing or fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Experience in the use of standard shop tools and inspection measuring tools.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints/shop drawings is a plus.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout work schedule, 6-8 hours per day.
  • Ability to regularly maneuver up to 50 pounds.

  • Location: Locust, NC
  • 2nd Shift: Mon – Thurs | 4:30pm – 2:30am
