Overview

Oldcastle, a CRH company, is seeking a Weld Lead for the 2nd shift to oversee the Manual Welding Department in an industrial manufacturing environment, ensuring customer demands are met through effective job coordination and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate jobs while communicating with the Production Supervisor.
• Ensure welders adhere to Inwesco Policies and Procedures while maintaining safety and quality.
• Track work order progress daily and input necessary data into the program.
• Coordinate with material handlers to ensure all components are available.
• Maintain open communication with the Production Supervisor regarding production issues.
• Conduct beginning of shift huddles to discuss safety information and assign tasks.
• Complete shift meetings to pass on critical production and quality information.
• Report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to maintenance and safety coordinators.
• Ensure effective work effort and adherence to company quality standards.
• Enforce safety rules and maintain clean work areas.
• Encourage maximum shift production flow while ensuring safety and quality.
• Complete production reports at the end of the shift.

Requirements

• Must have experience in steel fabrication, preferably 2-3 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lead by example and build effective teams.
• Able to operate under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to multitask.
