Overview
PPS is seeking an experienced and talented Welder Level IV to join our state-of-the-art semiconductor industry fabrication facility in Phoenix, AZ. The Welder IV will be responsible for MIG and TIG welding on a diverse array of products, held to tight tolerances per AWS codes and symbols.
Responsibilities
- Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
- Plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
- Performs minor maintenance on equipment.
- Assumes responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment.
- Observes and practices safety procedures and policies.
- Performs advanced welding activities with minimum instructions and supervision.
- Interprets complex blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and written work instructions.
- Sets up welding equipment in accordance with the appropriate weld process specifications.
- Completes weldments to the applied AWS welding code and blueprint requirements.
- Positions weldment details using fixtures, jigs, tape measure, square, rule, and caliper.
- Utilizes material handling equipment in conjunction with the welding task.
- Performs minor maintenance on job-related equipment.
- Attendance is an essential job function.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Two year vocational welding program or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in welding.
- Understanding of the use of measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, and tapes.
- Qualified to read blueprints.
- Strong understanding of TIG/MIG welding procedures and processes.
- Must have experience working with steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS welding symbols.
- Ability to perform welds that pass a visual inspection and destructive test.
- Basic math skills; must be able to perform conversions and basic calculations.
- Knowledge of welding machines and setup.
- Ability to operate hand/air tools and electric grinders.
