The Machinist position involves laying out, fitting, and fabricating metal components to create structural forms such as machinery frames and pressure vessels. The role requires knowledge of machining and welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements, including prototype work and analyzing engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components.
• Assemble structural forms like machinery frames and bridge parts.
• Perform journeyman level welding, machining, and fabrication of metals and special alloys.
• Maintain, repair, design, and modify metal components.
• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations.
