Overview

Engineered Steel Products is looking for experienced Steel Fabrication Fitters with prior experience in structural steel. A structural steel fitter plays a crucial role in the fabrication and erection of steel structures, preparing and assembling steel components according to blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Understand complex structural drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, welding symbols, and assembly instructions.
• Handle large and heavy steel members using cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment.
• Lay out reference lines and markings on steel to indicate where other components will be attached.
• Perform minor cutting, grinding, or shaping of steel using hand tools or portable power tools to ensure proper fit-up.
• Position, align, and temporarily secure steel components together using various methods.

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand English.
• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
• Proficiency in using various hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of basic rigging and material handling techniques.
