Overview

Velan Valves, part of Velan North America, has been manufacturing valves for military, nuclear, and specialized commercial applications since 1978. They are currently seeking a qualified individual to join their team as Welder B on 1st shift, emphasizing safety, operational efficiency, and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and hardsurfacing operations on component parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies according to engineering drawings and instructions.
• Utilize all types of welding equipment efficiently and safely with minimal supervision.
• Set up and operate manual and automatic welding equipment to produce quality work at an acceptable pace.
• Read and understand engineering drawings and shop orders to perform tasks accurately.
• Check and control tolerances and special requirements for first piece acceptance by inspections.
• Complete all required paperwork as per Velan Q.A. program and maintain a tidy work area.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year experience in manual or automatic welding and hardsurfacing processes.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and special instructions.
• Experience in checking and controlling tolerances and ensuring conformance to drawings.
