Overview
As a Fitter on the 2nd shift, you will set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, fabricating and assembling metal according to specifications. The role requires repairing and maintaining metal equipment and structures of various sizes.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
- Fabricate and assemble metal using welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools.
- Repair and maintain metal equipment and structures.
- Complete AWS certification 3G test using FCAW Flux Core.
- Read blueprints using GIT tolerances and AWS weld symbols.
- Operate overhead cranes using proper rigging techniques.
- Use oxy fuel torches to burn structural members up to 1 inch thick.
- Follow all company safety rules and procedures.
- Lift and hold up to 50 pounds safely.
- Work at a high production rate while maintaining safety.
- Level and square parts while tacking into place.
- Fix and rewire welding machines.
Requirements
- 2 years plus experience in metal fabrication/fitting.
- Strong capacity for teamwork.
- Experience with MIG and Flux-core welding.
- Good communication skills.
- Demonstrate initiative and autonomy.
- High School Diploma or GED.
