Overview
This position serves as a Pipefitter in an extremely complex medical facility, which is constantly evolving within a highly complex and competitive geographic area.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lay out the work.
- Determine the needed routing placement, pitch, incline or elevation of the equipment.
- Select the proper piping, valves, fittings and other parts necessary for the work.
- Keep abreast of new safe practices as developed.
- Skilled in the use of tools of the trade such as sliding squares, hand and power pipe threaders and cutters, sewer cleaning machines, measuring tapes, plumb bobs, and pipe wrenches.
- Repair or install fixtures such as toilets and sinks.
- Operate sewer cleaning machines and jetters.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to frequently work from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms in hard to reach areas.
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring or uncomfortable positions.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry parts and equipment up to 50lbs, with occasional lifting over 50lbs.
