Job Description
Overview
The Pipefitter position at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center is crucial for maintaining the plumbing and steam systems within the facility. This role involves working under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and requires handling complex and potentially dangerous systems essential for the Medical Center's operations.
Responsibilities
- Install, modify, maintain, and repair high-pressure piping systems including steam distribution and heating systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on oil/natural gas systems, heat exchangers, and install pipe insulation.
- Maintain and repair a variety of plumbing systems including domestic water systems and drainage systems.
- Install and maintain plumbing fixtures, faucets, and various valves and pumps.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid state driver's license.
- Must be in satisfactory physical and mental condition and fit for duty.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and hydraulic platforms.
- Experience working in cramped, dirty, and hard-to-reach locations.
Additional Information
- Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 4:00pm.
