Overview

The Welder performs welding tasks repairing and maintaining containers, both on- and off-site, while ensuring safety. The role also involves assisting maintenance personnel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding tasks to repair and maintain containers.
  • Work safely on- and off-site.
  • Assist maintenance personnel when required.

Requirements

  • Must pass a pulmonary function test if required by work assignment.
  • Passage of the company welding test.
  • Demonstrate welding aptitude.
  • Obtain any necessary welding certificates for tasks or projects.
  • Familiarity with shop equipment such as drill press, cranes, grinders, and saws.
  • Understand metal welding theory and practices.
  • Pass a pulmonary function and respirator fit tests.
  • At least one year of maintenance welding experience including the use of arc, MIG, and stick welders, plasma cutter, and acetylene equipment.
  • Experience in aluminum welding.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license.
  • Safe driving record for the last three years.
  • Forklift certification by the company within 90 days of employment.
