Overview

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Brazer II for their 2nd shift in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves performing soldering operations and ensuring the integrity of sealed units using various soldering equipment and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform soldering operations to seal unit covers to housings using induction soldering machines and hi-temp soldering irons.
• Conduct water leak tests and helium leak tests on sealed units.
• Rework units until they pass all leak tests.
• Perform basic electronic assembly hand soldering of electrical wires.
• Follow specific work instructions for various units.
• Position parts in fixtures for brazing and hi-temp soldering.
• Set up equipment including induction solder machines and acetylene torches.
• Examine hi-temp joined areas for integrity.
• Maintain equipment and inventory control of materials and chemicals.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly according to EHS regulations.
• Operate sensor test rigs for calibration and testing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience with solder and electromechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with schematics or blueprints.
• Basic computer skills for data lookup and entry.

Additional Information

• 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30pm to 11pm.
• Onsite position in Phoenix, AZ.
• Occasional weekend and holiday support may be required.
