Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company focused on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The Robotic Welder position involves set-up and assembly of products through production welding and tack welding using the GMAW process.

Responsibilities

• Use GMAW process to tack weld components to create pole assemblies.
• Manually position shafts on stationary turners for assembly.
• Move around poles to assemble components as needed.
• Use jib crane to lift components into position for assembly.
• Push, lift, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Read and interpret drawings to determine parts for assembly.
• Locate and gather parts from the staging area.
• Use plasma torch to cut steel.
• Utilize jigs for cutting holes in shafts.
• Measure distances and angles using various tools.
• Perform basic math calculations for measurements.
• Work in confined areas of the pole assembly line.
• Use motorized grinders, buffers, and drills for assembly.
• Maintain safety awareness and report unsafe conditions.
• Keep management informed of training needs.
• Wear protective gear to ensure safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Ability to use common manufacturing math.
• 6 months previous welding experience or graduation from a Technical Training Program in welding.
• Must pass GMAW 1-G flat plate and/or rotational weld test.
