Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that impacts millions globally by advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. They are seeking an Aluminum Welder for the 2nd shift to join their team in Elkhart, Indiana.

Responsibilities

  • Fuse or weld metal structural components using GMAW arc welding.
  • Perform welding operations with limited planning from blueprints or specifications.
  • Utilize safety devices and wear mandatory personal protective equipment.
  • Adjust welding equipment to prescribed settings.
  • Maintain and operate production tooling and welding equipment safely.
  • Read and complete labor reporting systems and blueprints.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings.
  • Basic working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Acceptable attendance and prior employment record.
  • One to three years of hands-on MIG welding experience in a production environment.
  • Multi-pass, stack layering welding experience.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, prior experience preferred.
  • Ability to read weld symbols and understand blueprints.
  • Must be able to use and accurately read a tape measure.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Positive communication and interaction with coworkers.
  • Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow safety regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and productive working environment.
