Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and quality-driven Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / Quality Welding Inspector to support welding quality assurance activities across fabrication and manufacturing operations.

This role is responsible for performing inspections of welded assemblies, supporting non-destructive testing (NDT) activities, ensuring compliance with AWS, ASME, and ISO quality standards, and helping maintain the highest levels of product integrity and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, technically proficient, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

salary: $62,000 - $72,000 per year shift: First work hours: 5 AM - 2 PM education: High School

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections of steel and aluminum tack welds, weldments, and fabricated assemblies to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Conduct periodic non-destructive testing (NDT), including magnetic particle and liquid penetrant inspections, to verify weld integrity and structural compliance.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and inspection tools to assess dimensional accuracy and weld quality.
  • Verify conformance to AWS, ASME, customer, and internal quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Document inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions accurately and thoroughly. Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
  • Support quality audits, process reviews, and internal quality inspections.
  • Analyze inspection findings and quality data to identify trends, recurring defects, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to investigate quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Assist in improving inspection procedures, quality documentation, and manufacturing quality controls.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality-focused meetings.
