Position Title: Welder

Wage: $26-$36/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday

QPS Employment Group is currently seeking experienced Welders for a direct hire opportunity in Tomball, TX. This role involves cutting, fitting, and welding pipeline products with a high level of precision. Candidates must have strong experience working with valves in the oil and gas industry.

Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Read blueprints and take measurements to plan layouts and welding procedures

• Determine appropriate welding equipment and methods based on job requirements

• Set up, align, and fit components according to specifications

• Cut and prepare materials using hand and power tools

• Operate grinders to clean and prep weld surfaces

• Perform welding using manual and semi-automatic equipment

• Inspect welds and finished surfaces for defects (including PT testing)

• Maintain equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation

Welder Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience welding valves in the oil and gas industry

• Proven experience with welding methods such as GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and SAW (Submerged Arc Welding)

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

• Strong understanding of different metals and their properties

• Commitment to safety standards and procedures

• Proven track record as a welder in industrial or pipeline environments

• Experience using tools such as saws, calipers, rulers, and squares

• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity

• Knowledge of welding safety practices and use of PPE

• Ability to communicate effectively in English

• AWS certification or equivalent is preferred
