CTR Group is seeking a Shop Welder in Richmond VA. Immediate openings and urgently hiring!

What You’ll Do: • Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated steel frames and metal parts according to blueprints • Measure, mark, and position components using tape measure, square, clamps, and other hand tools • Weld in vertical, flat, horizontal, and overhead positions • Use torch, plasma cutter, and grinders for prep and finishing • Inspect welds and components to ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications • Weld out components previously tack‑welded by senior welders • Grind, sand, and finish metal parts as needed • Operate material‑handling equipment including overhead cranes/hoists • Move, stage, and properly store materials and finished product • Wear required PPE including welding helmet, gloves, leather gear, safety glasses, steel‑toe shoes, and respirator when needed • Perform MIG welding and occasional TIG welding • Support additional production tasks as assignedWhat You Bring (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): • Hands‑on experience with MIG and TIG welding • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols • Strong measurement skills: tape measure, fractions, decimals, and dimensional accuracy • Mechanical aptitude and initiative in a fast‑paced environment • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong math skills and attention to detail • Ability to follow safety procedures and wear all required PPE • Ability to multitask and maintain quality under production timelines
