Overview
The Mig Welder/Fabricator is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and products according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies using various welding equipment.
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications or drawings.
- Follows weld and assembly requirements of drawings using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
- Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Uses precision measuring instruments to check work and perform detailed inspections.
Requirements
- 1+ years of MIG welding experience or equivalent training.
- Successful completion of CIT weld test.
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures.
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing.
- Deftness and attention to detail.
- Professional Certification (e.g. AWS welding certificate) is a plus.
