Overview

The Mig Welder/Fabricator is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and products according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies using various welding equipment.
  • Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications or drawings.
  • Follows weld and assembly requirements of drawings using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Uses precision measuring instruments to check work and perform detailed inspections.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of MIG welding experience or equivalent training.
  • Successful completion of CIT weld test.
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures.
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing.
  • Deftness and attention to detail.
  • Professional Certification (e.g. AWS welding certificate) is a plus.
