Overview

Therm-x of California is the leading manufacturer for Advanced Temperature and Control Systems for Hi-Technology industries, with over 30 years in business and a diverse customer base. The Auto Welder will help build and weld components using part-specific fixtures, interpreting part drawings and assembling components to specification.

Responsibilities

  • Understand TIG Welder control panel and operations.
  • Setup and operate automated welding processes.
  • Remove unnecessary items from the welding station to keep the WIP area uncluttered.
  • Separate non-conforming or rejected parts from passing WIP to prevent accidental usage.
  • Arrange work area in accordance with required jobs.
  • Knowledge of Welding Gases.
  • Knowledge of Electrode types and diameters.
  • Use precision measuring tools skillfully.
  • Read mechanical dials and digital measuring equipment to .001 inch.
  • Read mechanical scales in Inches and Millimeters.
  • Assemble and fixture parts to meet production rate standards.
  • Perform welding to visual and dimensional standards.
  • Operate various hand tools clamps, files, and wrenches.
  • Operate various pneumatic and electrical tools.
  • Setup and weld to print with little to no supervision.
  • Setup and operate equipment listed above with little to no supervision.
  • Fillet and Butt welds on .250” and thicker Aluminum plate, and .063- .125” Aluminum Sheet metal.

Requirements

  • Welding certification preferred.
  • 3 years or more of relevant job experience.
  • Ability to read written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
  • Read and identify all components specified in a bill of materials.
