Overview

The Welder I position at Briggs & Stratton involves performing basic welding tasks to ensure components meet engineered specifications. The company is a leading producer of engines for outdoor power equipment and offers diverse power solutions globally.

Responsibilities

  • Sets welding machine voltage and wire speed for proper fusion of metals following standard work methods and detailed drawings.
  • Welds assemblies to engineering specifications.
  • Performs basic maintenance of welding equipment to ensure proper working order.
  • Inspects weldments for obvious defects such as weld spatter, rough welds, missing welds, and sharp corners/edges.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Basic blueprint reading preferred.
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility.
