Overview

CPP is a world-class supplier of titanium castings and components for the aerospace industry, offering substantial growth opportunities. They are seeking TIG Welder Trainees who are current students or recent graduates of welding programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform titanium TIG welding in a chamber to repair castings, following all applicable procedures.
• Use tools such as calipers and profile templates to accurately repair castings.
• Collaborate with the team on rework plans to ensure castings conform to specifications.
• Use a grinder to shape tungsten.
• Load and unload castings from the chamber.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of equipment and work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in or recent completion of a formal welding vocational program required.
• Must pass a welding test within 6 weeks of being in position.
• Must pass an annual eye exam.
• Ability to bend, lift, push, and pull with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Basic high-school level math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to use small, fine tools.
• Good attendance record required.
• Requires continuous mental and/or visual attention to detail.
• Ability to understand measurements and use measurement tools correctly.
• Ability to work as a team player and be self-motivated.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• HS diploma or equivalent GED required, but relevant experience may be considered.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Solid job history including more than 1 year at previous or recent employer preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check.
• Must be willing to participate in pre-employment and periodic drug screening.
• Regular and reliable attendance required.

• Part-time schedules available for students.
• Full-time schedule is typically swing or weekend shift.
