Overview
At Parker Aerospace, we develop technologies and innovative solutions for the aerospace industry. The Welder position involves performing a variety of welding tasks on stainless steel and aluminum alloys, contributing to the fabrication and repair of parts and products.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols, and quality requirements.
- Support lean manufacturing concepts and methods for efficient product flow.
- Perform various approved welding techniques to required tolerances per engineering specifications.
- Adjust processes to achieve product conformance within procedural limits.
- Assist and train other employees in daily activities as needed.
- Perform full set-up and maintenance to assure quality and repeatability.
- Maintain knowledge and ability levels to efficiently perform all assigned work.
- Maintain a high level of performance while following procedures and safety rules.
- Document and log all parts and maintain required paperwork accurately.
- Maintain high welding quality as documented by reject/nonconformance charting.
- Maintain work area and equipment in an organized, clean, and FOD-free manner.
- Obtain and maintain required qualifications and certifications in appropriate metals.
- Accurately inspect and process all work performed, detecting and correcting defects.
- Implement lean initiatives by identifying areas for improvement.
- Observe all company policies and procedures, including safety rules.
Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat.
- Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and electrical shock.
