Overview

Fives North American Combustion, Inc. is hiring a full-time welder to join their team in Cuyahoga Heights, OH. The company is a subsidiary of the Fives Group and has over 100 years of experience in industrial combustion, focusing on innovation and collaboration to address technological and environmental challenges.

Responsibilities

• Welds metal parts together using gas welding and various arc welding processes.
• Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
• Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases the size of metal parts.
• Positions and clamps components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
• Locates and repairs cracks in industrial engine cylinder heads using inspection equipment and gas torch.
• Passes employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards.
• Assembles and welds laid-out components.
• Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure them for welding.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment.
• Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• D1 certification or related certifications preferred.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Previous experience in heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• High School/GED required.
• One-year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
