Schupan has been building sustainable material solutions since 1968, fostering a people-first culture with opportunities for growth and competitive pay. The Welder role involves using various welding techniques to join metal components and maintain welding machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Use hand-welding, flame-cutting, MIG, or TIG to weld or join metal components.
  • Operate and maintain all welding machinery.
  • Identify the most efficient type of weld based on work order/prints.
  • Operate MIG and TIG welding equipment, cold saws, and other tools.
  • Perform thermal cutting, grinding, plasma, and oxy/acetylene tasks.
  • Operate mobile equipment as needed.
  • Perform required maintenance for the fabrication department.
  • Comply with mandated ISO quality procedures.
  • Assist in performing inspections of parts.
  • Support other manufacturing and quality personnel when needed.
  • Maintain an internal project list and complete projects as scheduled.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Handle high-stress situations.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Exhibit behaviors that reflect the company core values.

Requirements

  • Technical school or equivalent on-the-job training and experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office or similar systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
  • Routinely required to stand, walk, and use hands.
  • Routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally more than 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include depth perception and focus adjustment.
  • Must be able to wear all necessary safety equipment.
  • Able to work in a noisy and non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • Able to work where Lockout/Tagout is a standard safety practice.

  • Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
