Schupan has been building sustainable material solutions since 1968, fostering a people-first culture with opportunities for growth and competitive pay. The Welder role involves using various welding techniques to join metal components and maintain welding machinery.
Responsibilities
- Use hand-welding, flame-cutting, MIG, or TIG to weld or join metal components.
- Operate and maintain all welding machinery.
- Identify the most efficient type of weld based on work order/prints.
- Operate MIG and TIG welding equipment, cold saws, and other tools.
- Perform thermal cutting, grinding, plasma, and oxy/acetylene tasks.
- Operate mobile equipment as needed.
- Perform required maintenance for the fabrication department.
- Comply with mandated ISO quality procedures.
- Assist in performing inspections of parts.
- Support other manufacturing and quality personnel when needed.
- Maintain an internal project list and complete projects as scheduled.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Handle high-stress situations.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Exhibit behaviors that reflect the company core values.
Requirements
- Technical school or equivalent on-the-job training and experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office or similar systems.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
- Ability to understand and carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Routinely required to stand, walk, and use hands.
- Routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally more than 50 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements include depth perception and focus adjustment.
- Must be able to wear all necessary safety equipment.
- Able to work in a noisy and non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Able to work where Lockout/Tagout is a standard safety practice.
