Responsibilities
- Applies appropriate welding and assembling applications in a fabrication environment.
- Processes metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Works according to layouts, work orders, and blueprints using MIG and TIG welding equipment.
- Lays out and marks weld points on parts or sub-assemblies.
- Positions pieces to be welded into jigs and fixtures using measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
- Observes all standard safety practices and maintains required records.
- Works in a safe manner using prescribed safety equipment including PPE.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a steel or industrial manufacturing setting preferred.
- Extensive MIG welding experience; TIG welding experience preferred.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.
- Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.
- Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding.
