Overview

Powell is a manufacturer of switchgear and other electrical equipment, currently hiring a Senior Fitter at their Southeast Houston manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate up to 1" steel plate, flat bar, and I-Beams.
• Operate Forklift, Jig Lift, and Man Lifts.
• Tack weld to fit all steel.
• Cut steel with torch, bandsaw, porta band, drill holes, grind, track torch, and transit.
• Attend safety orientation and pass quiz.
• Attend weekly Safety Meetings.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience as Structural Fitter.
• Pass written test using designated drawing with a score of 80 or above.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a small team with little supervision.
• Must pass drug screen.
• Basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Additional Information

• Ability to lift metal objects of up to 30 pounds frequently for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to work 60 to 70 hours per week.
