Overview
The Adjunct Faculty position in Welding at Lone Star College-Conroe Center involves teaching and supporting students in achieving course objectives while upholding the college's mission and values. This part-time role requires a commitment to student success and a collaborative teaching approach.
Responsibilities
- Teaches Welding Technology courses at various times and locations.
- Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
- Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
- Utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
- Meets with and advises students either before or after class or by appointment.
- Evaluates students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives.
- Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Attends meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
- Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in metals science, welding technology, agricultural mechanics, industrial education, industrial arts, or industrial technology.
- 3 years related work experience in the field.
- Mastery of course content.
- Demonstrated leadership skills emphasizing collaboration and teamwork.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Interest in interdisciplinary teaching and adult learning methodologies.
- Commitment to academic excellence and providing a dynamic climate for life-long learning.
- Ability to develop and implement instructional approaches.
