Overview
Kiewit’s Quality Group is a shared service that maintains and executes quality standards on projects across the company. The Sr Quality Manager will oversee quality control personnel, coordinate staffing needs, and ensure compliance with quality standards to meet client expectations and eliminate rework.
Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain effective communications and relations with district management and project teams.
- Recruit, hire, train, mentor and supervise district and project quality control personnel.
- Coordinate quality control staffing needs on projects and assign qualified personnel.
- Assist project teams in setting up the quality department and preparing for project kick-off meetings.
- Update the ASME Quality Control Manual annually as required.
- Support project teams in the development and implementation of project quality plans.
- Facilitate resolution of issues with Project Quality Managers and Project Managers.
- Monitor and report district quality incident and welding metrics.
- Oversee code compliance for work under the ASME Quality Control Manual.
- Liaison between authorized inspection agency and jurisdictional authorities.
- Research and answer technical questions regarding construction codes and standards.
- Assist the District Welding Engineer with various welding programs.
- Ensure all project Quality Records are completed and submitted properly.
Requirements
- Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, welding, civil engineering or construction management/engineering is preferred.
- At least ten years’ experience developing and implementing construction quality management programs in the LNG or Power industry.
- Certifications from AWS, CWB, API, ACI, ICBO, ASNT, NACE, etc. are advantageous.
- Exceptional math, computer, verbal and written communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
