Overview

Austin Industrial is a leading provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Instrument Fitter Helper position involves installing and removing various instrumentation devices used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, and temperature.

Responsibilities

• Reads and works from related blueprints and other schematic drawings.
• Installs and/or removes various instrumentation devices.
• Has comprehensive knowledge of pneumatics, electronics, and electricity.
• Cuts, bends, and installs pipe tubing or conduit for the installation of air or process lines for instrument controls.
• Installs instruments, instrument stands, and control wiring to valves and strokes valves to verify operation.
• Installs and calibrates recorders, alarms, switches, and other devices.
• May steam trace lines when necessary.
• May install flanges and orifice plates.
• May repair steam traps.
• May perform other duties necessary in order to remove, install, or troubleshoot instrumentation devices.
• Maintains current electrician's license or identification card to meet state regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No minimum education requirements.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience.
