Overview
Kiewit is adding a Project Supplier Quality Lead (or Manager) to their Supply Network in Lenexa, Kansas. This role involves ensuring suppliers implement best practices for quality, defect prevention, and compliance with standards across various market areas.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage a project specific supplier quality plan for assigned projects
- Review and approve project specific supplier quality and manufacturing documents
- Review and approval of supplier manufacturing records
- Review and approve Supplier deviation requests and disposition technical queries related to Quality
- Prepare Project Specific Documents such as Project Quality Master Inspection Test Plans and checklists
- Coordinate with Supplier, Customer & TPI for inspection points per project ITPs
- Act as the lead supplier quality representative on assigned projects
- Inspect or support assigned inspectors to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Manage assigned budget, inspectors, engineers, and 3rd party resources
- Ensure Client Quality requirements are met
- Educate project management, engineering, and construction teams on the supplier quality program
- Interface with Clients, Project Management and other teams as needed
- Track, manage and resolve supplier nonconformities and quality issues
- Perform Supplier Audits
- Ensure alignment of inspection and expediting activities
- Undertake training and maintain certifications as required
- Travel as required to project sites, Kiewit sites, and supplier locations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, or similar technical discipline AND 5+ years of related Supplier Quality experience, or Associates Degree AND 10 years of related SQM experience
- Experience reviewing Inspection and Test Plans from suppliers
- Working knowledge of NDE, welding, ASME codes and coatings for engineered equipment
- Experience in construction of oil/gas/chemical, power generation, water/wastewater processing, or industrial facilities
- Ability to review project and customer technical specifications and incorporate them into Project Quality Plans
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings for pressure vessels and piping
- Working knowledge of industry standards such as NACE, ASME, AWS, ISO
- Knowledge of design and fabrication requirements of equipment in power and oil & gas industry
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
