Overview

Ben E. Keith Company, a leader in food and beverage distribution for over a century, is seeking a Garage Mechanic to diagnose and repair trucks and diesel engines, while adhering to safety standards and maintaining quality service.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul trucks and diesel engines.
• Install and repair industrial and commercial refrigerating systems.
• Use hand and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, and other parts for proper operation.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and equipment lubrication.
• Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment.
• Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.
• Dismantle and overhaul internal combustion engines and other machinery.
• Keep records of repairs and replacements made.

Requirements

• Minimum two years related mechanic experience and/or training required.
• Minimum two years Thermo King or Carrier refrigeration experience and/or training required.
• High school diploma or GED; two years or more related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
