Overview
Southwest Shipyard, LP is seeking an Electrical Technician for maintenance and repair of buildings and mechanical systems within the marine industry. The role involves troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on various equipment in an industrial setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform pump service and maintenance activities, including troubleshooting and electrical work.
- Utilize hand tools effectively for various maintenance tasks.
- Operate and repair powered industrial trucks, aerial platforms, and bridge cranes.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and stock levels for the department.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on pumps and other mechanical systems.
- Assess damages and diagnose problems with equipment.
- Conduct testing, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling equipment and systems.
- Maintain close communication with the Supervisor regarding daily activities.
- Assist with planning and preparing daily schedules.
- Adhere to safety and environmental standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Industrial and/or Manufacturing maintenance.
- Valid Driver License with a good driving record.
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstration of basic mathematical skills.
- Forklift experience required; certification preferred.
- Proficient in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Additional Information
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday – Second Shift.
- Location: Southwest Shipyard L.P, 8502 Cypress St, Houston, TX 77012.
- Compensation: $18-$24/HR DOE, Helper positions available.
